Principles to Salvation & Sanctification, Part 2: James 4: 7-10

Our text this Sunday morning is James 4:7-10, part 2.  We are talking about principles to, or toward, salvation and sanctification.  Here is the rest of James test, a spiritual test, which is his list of sharp, terse commands.  Basically he’s saying THIS: a person who truly comes to Christ, or knows Christ, will have these! 10 principles, 10 commands (imperatives) that any true believer will be doing OR any lost person will show in coming to Christ for Salvation. We looked at the first 3 last Sunday: 1. Submit to God; 2. Resist the Devil (how do we do that?); and 3. Draw near. The next 7: 4. Cleanse your hands, 5. Purify your hearts, 6. Be miserable (how do we do that?), 7. Mourn, 8. Weep, 9. Laughter changed, and 10. Be humbled, James says again. We will look at the rest of these this Sunday.  These are a challenge, and we need humility in our lives to do these important qualities that lead to sanctification or salvation, whatever the need is in a person’s heart.
